| If your computer runs much more slowly than it used to you are probably infect with a virus or malware program. These programs lauch multiple services and install hidden programs that slow your PC down, cause pop-ups with advertising or bogus warnings about viruses to try and get you to buy something that you don't really need. In some cases they are just trying to get your credit card information for fraudulent purposes. Most of the tune-up and optimization programs will not improve the speed of your PC and the majority of the free programs you will find searching the web are in fact undesireable programs that will not fix your PC, but in fact slow it down and cause more problems. The primary cause of infections today are called "drive-bys" because you can get them by simply visiting an infected web site!
